Kempty Falls, nestled in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India, is a mesmerizing waterfall located 13 km from Mussoorie on Barkot Road and 45 km from Dehradun. At an altitude of 1,364 meters (4,500 feet), it is surrounded by lush hills, making it a popular picnic and tourist destination.
The name "Kempty Falls" is derived from "Camp-Tea," as British officer John Mekinan developed the site in 1835 as a tea and camping spot during colonial times.
